FROM HIT SERIES TO
FEATURE FILM

Hasaan Hates Portland hit the internet in late 2024 and quickly racked up millions of views across platforms with its clips and episodes that thoughtfully skewered America’s whitest, and weirdest city, all through the eyes of its low-key protagonist, Hasaan. It went on to win Best Web Series at the Oscar-qualifying film festival Hollyshorts.

It was a good ride, and I rode on down to Hollywood to pitch some HHP expansion projects - two TV pilots and a movie. I was just in time to witness the end stage implosion of the film and TV business in LA.

I didn’t get very far.

So I went back to the drawing board, and I got to work writing an entirely different script, one that took the spirit of the series and turned it up to 1000. I threw out every rule I knew and committed to pushing it as far as it would go. Most importantly, I wrote it so I wouldn’t need a greenlight from anyone to make it.

And so here we are, preparing to shoot in the fall of 2026.

Let’s go.

When Hasaan, a depressed single dad, is suddenly evicted from his apartment, it sets off a bizarre series of events that follow him throughout a day as he tries to get his life back on track.

But when his well-meaning neighbors launch a protest to save his home, he’s suddenly thrust into the spotlight as the reluctant hero who accidentally becomes the face of a movement.

THE STORY

We’re bringing the team from the series back for the film, and adding a small army to get it done.
